J&K Govt Orders Appointment of 23 Assistant Professors

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has officially sanctioned the appointment of 23 new Assistant Professors in Sociology for the Higher Education Department. Following the recommendations of the J&K Public Service Commission, detailed in their communication (PSC/DR-HE/Sociology/2023 dated 28-03-2024), these appointments come with immediate effect as per government order No. 348-HE of 2024 dated 06-06-2024.

The appointees have been placed on the Academic Level-10 with a revised Pay Structure of Rs. 57,700. The decision includes a diverse group of qualified individuals, each bringing their own experience and expertise to the department.

The appointees are required to furnish testimonials in original for verification by the concerned Principal, which includes a Domicile Certificate among other documents.

Reporting Instructions

Candidates from Kashmir Division are directed to report to the Nodal Principal, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu within a period of 21 days from the date of issuance of this order. Failure to comply will result in cancellation of the appointment without further notice.

Conditions of Appointment

  1. The new appointees will be on probation for a period of two years from their joining date.
  2. Appointments will be governed by the “New Pension Scheme” as per notification SRO 400 of dated 23-12-2009 issued by the state’s Finance Department.
  3. The appointments are subject to verification of the original documents and fulfillment of all necessary formalities.

This order signifies a significant step to bolster the faculty strength in the Higher Education Department of J&K, thereby aiming to improve the quality of education and research in the region.
