In a significant administrative move, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued orders for the transfer and placement of several Deputy Directors and their equivalents within the Animal Husbandry Department. This decision, outlined in Government Order No.295-JK(APD) of 2024 dated 06-2024, aims to optimize the functioning and service delivery of the department.
New Appointments and Transfers
- Dr. Abdul Majid, previously the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) of Reasi, is now assigned as the Vaccine Production Officer, Jammu.
- Dr. Ravi Kumar Keith moves from the Vaccine Production Officer, ARV Lab, Jammu to serve as the Principal of the Paravet Training Institute, Jammu in place of Dr. Tanvir-ul-Sharif Zargar.
- Dr. Raj Kumar has been appointed as the Manager, Poultry Production, Jammu, and will be taking over the responsibilities from Dr. Ravi Kumar Keith.
Furthermore, a notable change involves Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad Dand, who holds the position of I/C Principal of the Paravet Training Institute, Ganderbal, Kashmir. He is additionally entrusted with the role of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer of Ganderbal, which effectively relieves Dr. Mohammad Syed Abbas, the I/C CAHO of Srinagar, from the additional charge.
Implementation and Notices
The order was enacted with immediate effect, and copies of the government order have been sent to the concerned officials for a smooth transition. The Agriculture Production Department highlighted the importance of these changes in enhancing the department’s efficiency and capacity to serve the community better.
The relevant officers have been informed to take over their new roles promptly to ensure that the activities of the Animal Husbandry Department continue to run without any disruption.
